Most of the time you want all six specialists working. But some areas genuinely don't apply — there's no brand surface to check on an internal-only tool, and operations checks make little sense for something you never intend to charge for. Excluding a specialist tells Wolfix to skip that department's checks for a single scan, so its findings don't crowd out the ones you actually need to act on. It's a per-scan choice and fully reversible.
Open the scan options
From your project, start a new scan and open Scan options before you launch. The options panel lists the six departments — Legal, Security, Technology, Brand, Growth, and Operations — each with a toggle. By default all six are on.
Turn off the department you want to skip
Switch off the toggle for any department whose checks don't apply to this project. You can exclude more than one. The panel updates to show which specialists will work this scan and which will sit it out, so you can confirm the coverage before you commit.
Excluding a department hides its findings entirely
A skipped department produces no findings — not "zero issues found", but "not checked". If you exclude Security, the report won't tell you whether your secrets are exposed; it simply won't look. Only exclude a specialist when you are sure the area doesn't apply, not to make a report look cleaner.
Run the scan and read the coverage strip
Launch the scan as usual. On the report, the department summary strip shows the excluded department greyed out — the same way it appears when a source had no signal — so anyone reading the report can see the area was skipped, not passed. The exclusion applies only to this scan.
Turn the specialist back on next time
Exclusions don't persist. The next scan starts with all six departments on again, so you decide coverage fresh each time. To bring a specialist back into the current configuration, just re-open scan options and switch its toggle back on before launching.
Prefer a full scan when in doubt
Excluding a specialist saves a little noise, not much time — the six steps run in parallel. If you're unsure whether an area applies, leave it on: an irrelevant covered item is easy to ignore, but a gap you never checked for is easy to miss.
