What is a logo and brand kit, and why does it matter at launch?
A logo is the mark people recognise your product by; a brand kit is the set of files that put it everywhere it needs to be — favicon, app icon, social preview image, a colour palette and fonts. At launch the practical point is consistency: the browser tab, the App Store listing and the link preview in a group chat should all look like the same product.
Where Wolfix raises it. The Brand department checks your live site and app listing for a logo, a favicon, a social preview (Open Graph) image and store icons, and flags each one that is missing or still a platform default.
When you need a logo service — and when you don't
You need one now if your site or app still shows a placeholder mark, a framework's default favicon, or no social preview image — these are the first things a visitor or reviewer sees.
You don't need one yet if a simple wordmark — your product name in a good typeface — already covers you. Many successful products launched on exactly that. And if you plan to register the logo as a trademark, a generated mark may be a weak candidate (see the FAQ); a designer's original work is the safer route for that.
The options, one by one
Two of these, Looka and Tailor Brands, are services Wolfix refers customers to. Canva, 99designs and Fiverr are not Wolfix partners and are included because a fair comparison needs them. The first three are tools where software or you make the logo; 99designs and Fiverr are marketplaces where a human designer does.
Looka
What it is. An AI logo generator that turns your product name and a few style choices into logo options, then sells either the logo files alone or a yearly brand-kit subscription.
Pricing (as of 2026-10-04). The Basic Logo Package is $35 for one low-resolution PNG file; the Premium Logo Package is $72 with high-resolution PNG, EPS, SVG and PDF files [S1]. The Brand Kit subscription is $96 a year, or $129 a year with an AI-generated website [S1].
Pros
- Making logos is free; you pay only when you download one you like, and you keep full ownership of the logo after a subscription ends (as of 2026-10-04, [S1]).
- The Premium package at $72 (as of 2026-10-04, [S1]) gets every file format you need for a one-off price.
Cons
- Looka's own FAQ says you own copyright in the logo as a whole but not in its individual elements, such as the symbol (as of 2026-10-04, [S1]) — the same symbol can appear in other customers' logos.
- The $35 Basic package is a single PNG file (as of 2026-10-04, [S1]), which is not enough for an app icon or print, so in practice the $72 package or the subscription is the real price.
Who it suits. A founder who needs a clean, usable mark this week and will revisit branding later.
Tailor Brands
What it is. An automated logo maker that has grown into a small-business platform — logo design, LLC formation, bookkeeping and a website builder under one account.
Pricing (as of 2026-10-04). You can make a logo for free and download a low-resolution version; high-resolution vector files (EPS, SVG) require payment [S2]. The public pricing page leads with business-formation bundles from $0 plus state fee and does not list a standalone logo price [S3].
Pros
- Full commercial rights to the logo once purchased, per its FAQ (as of 2026-10-04, [S2]).
- A suite of branded assets — brand book, letterheads, business cards — is created alongside the logo (as of 2026-10-04, [S2]).
Cons
- The logo price is not published on the pricing page, which leads with LLC formation bundles instead (as of 2026-10-04, [S3]) — you find out what the files cost only inside the checkout.
- Trademarking the logo through Tailor Brands is sold as an extra (as of 2026-10-04, [S2]), and the upsells into formation and bookkeeping ($39 a month after a 30-day trial, as of 2026-10-04, [S3]) make it easy to buy more than a logo.
Who it suits. A non-technical founder who wants a logo and is happy to manage other business setup in the same account.
Canva
Not a Wolfix partner. Named for comparison; Wolfix earns nothing from it.
What it is. A general-purpose design tool with logo templates and an AI logo generator, where you design the logo yourself and then make the rest of your launch graphics in the same place.
Pricing (as of 2026-10-04). Free is $0 with one Brand Kit limited to 3 colours; Pro is $144 a year for one person [S4].
Pros
- A free plan with one Brand Kit (as of 2026-10-04, [S4]), so a simple wordmark and the social images around it cost nothing.
- Pro at $144 a year (as of 2026-10-04, [S4]) is a general design subscription, used for presentations and social posts as well as the logo.
Cons
- Canva's content licence forbids using its library content — templates, photos, icons, illustrations — as part of a trademark, design mark or business name, with fonts the stated exception (as of 2026-10-04, [S5], section 9). A mark you mean to register has to be your own drawing, or a wordmark set in a font.
Who it suits. A founder who wants a simple wordmark set in a font, and one tool for every launch graphic.
99designs
Not a Wolfix partner. Named for comparison; Wolfix earns nothing from it.
What it is. A design marketplace, part of Vista, where you run a contest and several designers submit logo concepts, or hire one designer directly [S6].
Pricing (as of 2026-10-04). Logo contests have four fixed packages: Bronze $249, Silver $399, Gold $799 and Platinum $1,050, excluding sales tax [S6]. Each includes full copyright ownership and a money-back guarantee [S6].
Pros
- Full copyright ownership of the winning design on every package (as of 2026-10-04, [S6]), which matters if you plan to trademark the logo.
- A contest returns about 30 to 90 concepts depending on the package (as of 2026-10-04, [S6]), from different designers.
Cons
- The cheapest contest is $249, excluding sales tax (as of 2026-10-04, [S6]), about seven times Looka's $35 Basic package (as of 2026-10-04, [S1]).
Who it suits. A founder who wants an original logo from a human designer and can spend a few hundred dollars on it.
Fiverr
Not a Wolfix partner. Named for comparison; Wolfix earns nothing from it.
What it is. A freelance marketplace where you buy a logo from an individual designer's listing, with packages and prices set by each seller [S7].
Pricing (as of 2026-10-04). Seller-set. Each seller offers up to three packages — Basic, Standard and Premium — each with its own delivery time, revision count and price in US dollars [S7]. Fiverr sets no fixed logo price; the only figure its help centre gives is the floor, a $5 minimum starting price per listing, higher in some categories [S7].
Pros
- Each package states its delivery time and number of revisions before you order (as of 2026-10-04, [S7]).
Cons
- Each seller's package states the files, revisions and delivery time you get (as of 2026-10-04, [S7]), so two listings at a similar price can deliver very different work — check the package before ordering.
Who it suits. A founder who wants a human designer on a small budget and is willing to vet sellers.
Still undecided: Wolfix's own brand kit
Wolfix itself can generate a brand kit from your report — logo, favicon, social preview image and store icons — paid for with credits. For a wordmark, a well-chosen free typeface and a design tool you already use are often enough.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best logo maker for a startup?
For a quick, usable mark, Looka's $72 package or Canva's free plan is enough (as of 2026-10-04, [S1], [S4]). For an original logo you plan to trademark, a human designer — 99designs transfers full copyright on every contest package (as of 2026-10-04, [S6]).
Can I use an AI-generated logo for my startup?
Yes, for launch. It gives you a consistent mark across your site, app and social previews. Revisit it if you plan to trademark the logo or raise a round where brand matters.
Can I trademark a logo from an AI logo maker?
Possibly, but it is a weaker candidate. Looka grants copyright in the logo as a whole but not in its individual elements (as of 2026-10-04, [S1]), and a symbol other businesses also use is harder to protect. Trademarking your product name is usually the more valuable first step.
Is Looka free?
Designing is free; downloading a usable logo is not. A single PNG is $35 and the full set of files $72 (as of 2026-10-04, [S1]).
What files do I need from a logo maker?
At minimum an SVG (for the web and scaling), a high-resolution PNG with a transparent background, and a square version for app icons and favicons.
